It’s been a while, hasn’t it? We’ve been busy. Mainly, I’ve been kvelling over the fact that Dream Job won Outstanding Science Fiction and Best Editing at The New Jersey Web Festival for 2026!
What is Dream Job?
Imagine a podcast that talks you through a guided meditation that leads you to your dream job. Once you vividly imagine the door of your choice, and walk through it, you’re whisked away on an audio drama adventure with a mysterious employment test. Can you pass and get hired? The benefits are beyond belief.

Why is Dream Job?
Winter of 2026 was like being encased in concrete. A bunch of podcasters got together and said, “let’s turn our anger into something positive for somebody.” We brainstormed a neo-absurdist story about escape, justice and vengeance, and shared it in Podcasthon, to raise money for The Trevor Project. I wrote the framing device, other writers contributed the dreams for the testing environment, and H.M. Radcliff produced. Everyone did what they could, nothing was overwhelming, and we had fun.
Who made Dream Job a reality?
A bunch of audio drama and fiction podcast geniuses, I’ll tell you what. But, you want credits.
The guided meditation and employment testing environment are written by Lindsay Harris Friel and produced by H.M. Radcliff.

Is this something that really happened, or something that might have happened?
Why choose The Trevor Project?
Short answer: Why not?
Long answer: We created this audio experiment because we believe everyone has the right to pursue their dreams with dignity and respect. Though we made this in response to anguish over events in Minnesota, we each had our own personal reasons for needing to make art out of pain as well.
For many young people, simply being who they are isn’t safe. This story imagines entering dreams and returning unharmed. In real life, many LGBTQ young people don’t have that safety. The Trevor Project exists to change that.
Also, The Trevor Project has earned excellent ratings from Charity Navigator, an independent organization which provides free access to data, tools and resources to guide philanthropic decision-making.
